First Pool

It was a beautiful Saturday so we decided to see how Little Philip liked his inflatable pool. We don't think he'll be afraid of the water like his Mama was as a little girl. Why waste a good diaper when you can skinny dip! It looks like there is no water in the pool. That's because Mama was ultraparanoid about drowning even though she never left the side of the pool.

My first chair

Mamie Moss gave us our first chair. We like to sit in it and watch Baby Einstein.

Mmm...mexican

Is it bad to give your nine month old mexican rice, cheese quesadilla and guacamole? We went to our local favorite mexican restaurant with Brand and Mandy Hilsmier. Little Philip couldn't get enough of the cuisine. We stopped him when he went for Mama's $1 maragarita. After all, it was ladies night.

The state of education in Mississippi

Philip and I often banter back and forth who has a better public education system, Alabama or Mississippi. My argument was made stronger when we saw this sign in a gas station bathroom in Mississippi. Click on the picture to see a larger version. That way you will really appreciate the effort the first person made to "correct" the original author.

Too excited to nap

We've learned to stand up and walk around coffee tables, adult legs, and most important, we've learned to stand up in our crib. The mattress is now lowered to its lowest possible level. Little Philip is so proud of himself he stands in the crib squealing to keep himself awake instead of falling asleep like a good little boy. Renie crawled in on her hands and knees with the camera after an hour one night. When she looked up, this is what she saw.

Hailstorm in April

The weather has been pretty terrible lately here in Alabama. Afterall, it is tornado season. This is what Renie drove home from work in. This picture is of our deck just after she ran in the door with Little Philip. It hailed for about 15 minutes straight.
